Con una superficie de 20.105 millas cuadradas, el Condado de San Bernardino es el condado más grande por superficie en los Estados Unidos contiguos, más grande que cualquiera de los nueve estados más pequeños y más grande que los cuatro estados más pequeños combinados.
En 2009 la población del condado se calculó en 2.060.950. Ubicado en el sureste de California, las montañas y los desiertos poco poblados de este vasto condado se extienden desde las afueras de la zona densamente poblada de Riverside-San Bernardino hasta la frontera con Nevada y el Río Colorado.
